The Pacific Grove Fire Department protects a geographical area of 2.86 square miles and a full-time population of 16,500 residents.
The Department responds to an average of 1650 calls a year, approximately 55% of these calls are medical responses.

The Department offers many public education resources to the citizens of Pacific Grove including a mobile safety trailer, station tours, a comprehensive Life & Safety Inspection Program, Operation Smoke Alarm, and offers instruction in CPR to name a few. The Department is equipped with four fire engines and a truck company and utilized some of the latest equipment; semi-automatic defibrillators, computer generated reporting system and large diameter hose.

All members of the Pacific Grove Fire Department are dedicated to protect life, property and the environment from the adverse effects of fire, medical emergencies, release of hazardous materials,
natural disasters and exposure to hazardous conditions. In
essence, to maintain and enhance a community environment that
is conducive to the overall quality of life in the City of Pacific Grove.
