| The Pacific Grove Fire Department protects a geographical area of 2.86 square miles and a full-time population of 16,500 residents. The Department responds to an average of 1650 calls a year, approximately 55% of these calls are medical responses. The Department offers many public education resources to the citizens of Pacific Grove including a mobile safety trailer, station tours, a comprehensive Life & Safety Inspection Program, Operation Smoke Alarm, and offers instruction in CPR to name a few. The Department is equipped with four fire engines and a truck company and utilized some of the latest equipment; semi-automatic defibrillators, computer generated reporting system and large diameter hose.
