To perform surf and open ocean rescue operations in coordination with other emergency services agencies.

The Pacific Grove Ocean is capable of providing ocean rescue services from the boundaries of the Pajaro River to Bixby Creek. The unit is available for extended coverage on active incidents by special request. The team consists of 35 volunteers who are available by pager 24-hours a day, seven days a week.
